Hi all - Hope this is ok to ask this question. I know this may sound kinda crazy but I live on a County Road that isn't maintained which is a really rough ride until I get to pavement. So, I want to swap out my 2020 20" OEM RT+ Blackout Wheels for black 18" OEM wheels which will give me some more rubber and hopefully a bit smoother ride. Mine have about 700 miles on them. Yep, I'm old...

Just make sure 18" will fit on your year & model.
They may have done something with the brakes like on the SRT?

Not crazy at all. 20" wheels belong on sports cars, not MOPAR muscle. I'm looking to do the same.

One word of caution. The 20-inch wheels were specified to fill out the wheel wells. An 18-inch wheel will not do that and will leave a gap between the top of the tire and the fender. If you want to avoid this look, you will have to drop the suspension.

If you keep the same ratio yes. If you keep the same tire diameter it will not. What are the 18" tire specs?

EDIT: also if the 18" are smaller diameter the speedo will be off.

You are correct. A 245/45-20 tire has a diameter of 28.7 inches. A 245/55-18 tire has almost the same diameter at 28.6 inches.

Another thing to consider is handling. A 45 aspect ratio tire will normally outperform a 55 aspect tire.

So what the guys are saying is to make sure you keep the same tire diameter to keep the electronics in order. Go with the 245/55-18's. You wrote that your current wheels are from a 2020 RT Plus. I went from the OEM RT Plus 20" wheels on my 2015 to a EOM 18" for winter tires. Brake clearance shouldn't be an issue if you have the RT Plus. It could be a concern with the SRT's.

Doesn't a 20" have more surface traction than an 18" with same specs?
