The detail in that picture is phenomenal. It clearly shows how the rubber bushing that holds the bearing to the support bracket deteriorated and broke apart. I bet there's nothing wrong with the actual bearing itself.

If your going to lift the car to check the carrier bearing you probably won't be able to see it unless you remove the heat shield, at least that's how it was on my 2015 SRT 392 when I had to replace mine. You can however just grab the driveshaft as close to the center as possible and see if it's loose (try pushing up and down on it). It should be nice and firm, no wiggles or anything.
Another thing you can do to check before you go through the trouble of lifting the car is: While driving, when you hear the noise, put your right hand between the seats onto the hump on the floor just behind the center console. If you can feel the thumping there then it's probably a failed carrier bearing (well the rubber bushing anyway). Unfortunately, model years 2015+ you have to buy a new driveshaft at the cost of around $800. Pre 2015 you could just take down the driveshaft and replace the carrier bearing for around $85.

After resolving a “ glitch “ in the dealer having difficulty locating my warranty info , a quick road test revealed a wasted drive shaft bearing. 2-3 weeks to get part , at least know definitively what I’m dealing with. Will update when part installed

2-3 weeks to get the part and it's the dealer??!!?? I wonder why it would take so long.
I ordered my driveshaft from Tasca Parts, they're in Rhode Island. They had to special order it from the manufacturer but I still had it within 10 days. I paid $755 for it and saved on the labor by installing it myself.
I think the MSRP for a new driveshaft for your SXT is around $1100 the labor should be around 1.7 to 2 hours. (Edit) I just realized you said you have a warranty so you won't have to worry about cost.

I see you're from Long Island. I'm in Queens but I bought my car at Security Dodge in Amityville. Which dealer do you use?

UPDATE, the part arrived ( after 3 months ) was installed at dealership in 1 day and seems to have solved the problem. Minor annoyance is the exhaust vibration I hear particularly when first started . Update is a little late - car repaired 08/27. My other car , 68 Skylark convertible has been eating up most of my time but the upgrades I’m installing will be worth it in the end .

Not surprised in the WAIT for parts.
Glad to hear they fixed the problem.

Now, PICS of the 68 Skylark convertible :smiley-face-popcorn
