A 2009 Challenger SRT with a transplanted Viper V10 510 hp. engine (with only 7,000 miles) is being offered for sale for only $23,900. The catch? The car, however, is not complete and the engine needs a lot of finishing touches, such as the wiring, fuel system, etc. Would you buy it? At $23,900, Could This V10 2009 Dodge Challenger Be A Deal? (jalopnik.com)
The 510 hp. V10 in the Challenger is a Third Generation engine. Here are the horsepower ratings from 1992 to 2017: First Generation, 1992-1995- 400 hp. Second Generation, 1996-2002- 450 hp. Third Generation, 2003-2006- 510 hp. Fourth Generation, 2008-2010- 600 hp. Fifth Generation, 2013-2017- 640 hp.
It would be cool if you could do it yourself and complete the project properly, BUT most of us could never undertake this effort. That $23,900 would turn into $30,000 at a shop before you know it and probably much higher. Can it even be done correctly? If it could, what a hit it would be at car shows and meets. Interesting for sure but I wouldn't consider it personally.
Think I would just get a DRAGPACK Of course, those you don't get a title., just a bill of sale to keep them from being licensed on the street.
