The chip shortage is a real PITA. There are a bunch of dealers with nearly empty new-car lots. I bet some are regretting building mega-size dealerships. I've read that inventory levels are projected to return closer to normal in the first half of 2022. I think Dodge starts taking 2022 orders in October and starts production in early December. Someone with a better memory than mine can jump in and confirm or correct that.

Test drove an 2018 Shaker just to make sure its a car that I want. I hadn't ever even sat in one before. This one had 48,000miles and headers. No way in hell am I going to buy a used car with headers because I have a pretty good idea how it was driven. (Like I would've). Besides that, I don't know what kind of mufflers it had, but it sounded like shit. No where near a performance sound.

The interior had the red center panels. Love the looks, but not a fan of suede because I feel its too easy to get dirty and not be able to clean.
Car was very comfortable and can easily see taking it cross country.
Passenger seat with only 2 manual controls !?!? LOL
Just barely touch the throttle and it reacts fast !! Then found out it has a 3.92 rear ratio which explains quickness and lousy mileage.
Dealer did a search for my specs for a Shaker and a TA. Nothing. Said that probably in about 2-3 weeks 2022 will start being listed. Will wait.

    Thanks for help !!

I will add my 2 cents, here, when it comes to options. Don't forget the 1320 plus package! :D (At least if you have any thought that you might want to take it to the track.) While obviously not absolutely necessary, Trans brake, line lock, the beefier half shafts that you get and adaptive suspension/drag mode are pretty awesome. Aside from that as an option you might be interested in, one thing I can say after purchasing my 1320 is this - having only sat in these cars at auto shows and occasionally on a dealer lot all the way up until the point I bought mine; I can say wholeheartedly that adding blind spot and cross path detection is nearly a must with these cars.

I initially had a "take it or leave it" attitude when it came to that package (can't remember if it's in the technology group or the driver convenience group offhand) but it is an absolutely priceless option, in my opinion. My car had it and if I were to buy another one today, I would insist on it. It is that helpful when changing lanes. Serious blind spots in this car towards the rear end. Limited visibility out the rear side windows and you really have to crane your neck, at that.

Its in the technology group and about the only option I didn't get when I ordered my 1320. I didn't think it was needed since I live in a rural area with mostly 2 lane roads. But when I took a trip to Detroit last week to pick up some wheels in my Mustang, I almost side swiped a car I didn't see as I was trying to get on an exit. I hate driving in areas with lots of traffic!

I completely agree on not buying a 48,000 mile Challenger with headers. Because I would have probably thrashed on it some (?) too. And at 62, I'm old enough to know better. ;)

Sadly, too many Challenger owners seem to go only after LOUD instead of "the right sound". If the car is an automatic ... and if you remove the resonators at the rear of the system ... then you will have nasty drone in the cabin. Especially when the engine drops into 4cyl mode.

The Magnaflow X-Mod system sounds pretty good. Personally, I'm a big fan of the Flowmaster sound. But exhaust sound is so personal that there's certainly not a one-size-fits-all.

As for the interior ... I think you have to get all the way up to a Hellcat before you can get the Laguna leather interior instead of the Alcantara (suede.). And, yes, it's crazy that you can't dual power seats. A dealer once tried to explain that away by saying that they made the passenger seat manual so it could be pushed forward quickly should someone need to escape the back seat. Hmmm.

Good Luck with your search. Normally the new model year ordering system opens in early October. Who knows what will happen this year.
