Imagine showing up to your local Mopar show or cruise-in in one of these. You would have a real head turner plus the slowest Challenger ever made. Definitely try to park next to a Hellcat
^^^ So true, but now the 'clean' low mileage ones (if you can find one) will bring some decent $$$ especially with the 80's cars getting hot. Prices for 80's GM cars like Firebirds/ Camaros, and Monte Carlo SS have really risen. Again I'm talking the 'clean' lower mileage examples.
Remember those ugly five mile per hour bumpers and the fact that the cars barely went faster than that.
^^^ So true. Anemic performance is always a good term that is used. The V8 in my 1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe was ultra sluggish. I was really tempted to swap in a 300 HP GM crate engine but with the car so original and mileage under 30k miles I sold it to a collector in PA about 6 years ago who has it sitting with about 65 other collector cars that never see the light of day. Oh well, I enjoyed it and drove it to many shows and events, even the twisties on the Tail of the Dragon.
No, just the 305 V8 with it's weak 180 HP engine. If the Turbo was offered, like the GN or '89 Trans Am, I'm sure the collector's market would be all over them. Instead of $15k -$20k for clean low mileage examples, I'm sure the prices would be double.
