Has anyone installed a throttle body spacer on their 392 and if so did you see any improvement of any kind?

Well I guess no one here has ever tried a throttle body spacer or either have never heard of one. I've had 77 views but not one yea or nay.

Throttle Body spacers don't do anything. Intake spacers are arguably better. They lengthen the intake runners, which is proven to be beneficial in creating torque.

    Watch these two videos.

Some report gains going to a larger TB even w/out additional mods.

Unless you're drag racing, I doubt you'd "feel" any difference. Spacers were widely used on carbureted engines for two reasons. They gave a thermal break from the hot intake manifold for a cooler fuel charge and the added distance from the carb to the intake increased the vacuum - that gave a better draw of fuel into the intake and cylinders.

Thermal insulation, ok, Increase plenum volume, yes, so you have a larger batch of fuel/air mix to draw into the cylinder faster without having to overcome the throttle blades...so in theory you can fill the cylinder faster since the moving air has mass, and that mass can't stop instantly when the cylinder changes direction, so it acts like a ram air set up slightly......but increase vacuum ?? never heard that one.......

The piston stroke & cylinder diameter determine how much volume can be drawn in each time the piston drops.......so if the volume of air in the intake is equal to the volume of air in 1 single stroke, all of it would be drawn into the cylinder and used, yielding higher vacuum But now extra volume is added by the spacer, so not all of the air in the intake is or can be used....so not sure how vacuum would increase...looks like it would actually decrease since not all of the volume is drawn in.

What am I missing here ? if it increases vacuum then it should increase mpg...which means they would work....but they really don't.
