I keep getting notices to re-activate my Sirius Guardian services or I will lose many features including remote door locks and remote start. My 1 year Challenger ownership expired Nov 5 yet my remote door locks still work fine. I haven't tried the remote start mainly because I don't use it. Other features like 24/7 assistance and SOS I don't really care about. I have AAA. I haven't re-activated anything except my Sirius XM music. Are they 'full of it' about my remote door locks or am I under some 'grace' period?? I guess I can call the dealership next week but maybe you guys know.
I have the previous version ... Uconnect Access ... but it has many (all?) of the same features. We just don't have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. I don't think it's a bluff. I do think it's entirely up to them whether or not they allow the remote app features continue to work. I can see how not having a subscription to Uconnect (Sirius Guardian or Access) could shut off the ability to use their app to lock/unlock the doors or remote start. After all ... something has to connect the app on your phone to the software in the car. And if Uconnect is gone, then the app can't talk to the car.
^^^ I think you just taught me something. I'm so old school I wasn't even thinking about a phone, just my key fobs. I don't use a cel phone for anything except emergencies. Thank you very much! I'm sure my key fobs will continue to work, just like they do on my 20 year old T/A that has basically nothing compared to today's cars, not even satellite radio.
