Checking Oil Level

Well, this is how I have been taught from my dad and the military as well as others.........it's the ONLY way to be consistent, as what you & I think are 'some resistance' probably isn't the same.

How to check oil level in an engine....
With the engine off, open the car's hood and find the dipstick. Pull the dipstick out from the engine and wipe any oil off from its end. Then insert the dipstick back into its tube and push it all the way back in. The dipstick shows the oil is low and needs to be topped off.


But, just like with upbadging, it's your car, do things how you want to.

 

Page 282 lists what the mfg recommends (assuming they have some knowledge on the matter).

but is says nothing about HOW to check it......I searched oil, level, and check....nothing
