I have a 2019 SXT AWD with the 3.6 liter. I am considering installing one of the available headlight air duct tubes (with a low restriction filter element) as a low(er) cost option. It appears Mopar offers about 3 tubes (2 that are round at the airbox end and 1 squarish with plastic rivets). They also offer a Hellcat airbox bottom in conjunction with one of these. Also AFE has one under the Momentum brand. Fitament guides are all over the place on whether or not these are a fit/match for my car. Has anyone done one of these, which one(s) are most compatible, level of difficulty etc.? Can I cut (hole saw, reciprocating saw) in my air box or do I need the Hellcat bottom? Thank you in advance for any guidance.
Welcome to the neighborhood. Keep your pants on. The advice here might be free, but it isn't always exactly "on demand." You probably didn't get a speedy answer because most of the frequent posters here have HEMI engines. And, no, I'm not knocking the Pentstar V6. My buddy has one and it's pretty impressive considering how heavy our cars are. So ... I have questions. Is the air box in the exact same place for a V6 as the V8? If so, then the lower Hellcat box should fit and the Hellcat duct to the headlight should work just fine. If not, then you're either going to have to fab your own or go with an aftermarket CAI made for the V6. One of the more helpful Mopar Parts guys is Luke at Steve White Motors in North Carolina. Reach out to him and you'll get a definitive answer from someone that knows Dodge parts. Good Luck
The air filter element is the same for the V6 and the Hemi. I have owned both. I got the factory Hellcat airbox and tube. I like that it is factory, and is hard to tell it's even there. And to add, it lowered my intake temp by about 5 degrees.
