Well I don't miss mine and it's a base C-6 2005 Coupe auto which is now my daily driver. But like another couple in here has gone through the same thing I am going through now I really need more interior space and the Challenger offers everything I now want. The styling, a real trunk, seats that fold down for even more space, classic styling. I still wish to keep the Corvette IF I CAN AFFORD THE MAINTENANCE as I am the original owner who ordered it the way I wanted it from the factory in 2004. Got almost 93,000 miles and starting to show mechanical wear. It's very light, getS great mileage, 19 - 28 MPG ON 4 spd auto with 3.15 rear end, light, comfortable ride and QUIET but using it day to day for the last two years gets to me. Hard to make those Costco runs and stock up on toilet paper as I can't see what's behind me.
I used to use a 31+ year old Mustang GT that I ordered from the factory the way I wanted it back in 1987 but that got hit and run so that was that so during the last two years the Corvette used to be a second car which served great as a 4 spd. auto and the cherry 1988 Mustang GT 5 spd. fullfilled my daily driver duties so I had best of both worlds with V8 power and both manual and auto transmissions. It worked out perfect till someone hit me and took off totaling my car and other persons car sending them to a hospital. That 1988 fox body Mustang GT was alot more manueverable than the Corvette and easier to park and get around..But Corvette is still a much better car in performance and engineered and that's coming from my experience from ordering both of these cars the the factory the way I wanted them equipped down to the gear ratios and other options.

Yes speed isn't everything. But one thing for sure you know you got the right car because everytime you park it or look at it you have to look at it again. That's is the sign that you got the right car. I cannot look back at an ugly car period. And even worse if I bought some ugly car like a Toyota or Honda though supposedly very relieable and good dealership experiences, low maintenance I just could not look back at it be happy that I bought that ugly thing-ONLY if I brain wash myself in saying that it is from getting from point a to point b at the lowest price but it is really at those times I wished I had that v8 power in real every day life and driving. Besides I want to make driving enjoyable and how can I enjoy the Corvette if I am driving a civic of today or Toyota Corolla as an everday daily driver. All that does is prolong the enjoyment of the Corvette for weekends or limited times when there is no traffic on road which is rare and make that corvette less to drive in cost and last longer in garage. Those other cars have a reputation of being reliable but to me are boring and yes you will save money especially if you have a 10 gallon tank and that's the only positive thing I can see about that and I did live that in 1985-1988 with a Honda CRX 5 spd. 1.5 carb model. They didn't have the SI black special edition fuel injected with sunroof that was even more fun and a screamer back then which came out 6 months after I got my 1.5 CRX carb model. Selling that 2 seat CRX would have been a big depreication hit back then but as it stand during the 3 years I had that car I had no maintenace problems none whatsoever.
The Honda 1985 CRX was one of the funniest cars I have driven with 5 spd. manual with 91 cubic inches and I can't remember how many hosepower maybe 91 but it was under 100 HP but it was very light and a rever 16 valve 4 cylinder with maybe 91 cubic inces? To get the power you had to rev it inHIGH RPM and I was used to low lazy high torque v8 which I was raised on. Gas Guzzlers but the new car I bought 1985 Honda CRX was cheap in cost and fun in the younger days. It just didn't hold up as well as far as the tinnie metal on honda with dings in metal and was a very light car with composite fenders, weak parking bumpers and the metal doors did not hold up well in those 3 years but I got 30 miles in San Francisco Driving and 40 mpg driving to LA in my younger days sound mechanical engine but the metal on body didn't hold up as well as the body metal on the the thick metal on the 1988 5 spd.Mustang GT for 31+ years which wasn't as light and perhaps a different fun but a deadly driving kind of car that gave you no warning when it broke loose on wet pavement or during sudden weight changes going into an over steer like those Porsche 930? models. Break rear end loose without warning. I got accostomed to 360's and I wasn't even trying to drive fast just a bad balance with that solid rear axle hop in rain with hydroplaning +oversteer.
