    Hello all.

What is the normal operating temp for a 2010 SRT8? Normal everyday driving? NO pedal to the medal.... lol

Also, why does the check engine light continue to come on even after changing out the thermostat. I keep getting the error code for the thermostat. thx

200-230 is normal. Are you getting a P0128 trouble code?

If so, it could be caused by the wrong thermostat (i.e., a 180 degree instead of a 205 degree OEM). The coolant temperature may not be reaching the predicted engine coolant temperature within the specific time.

Other causes could be any of the following:
    • Faulty Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
    • Engine Coolant Temperature sensor harness is open or shorted
    • Engine Coolant Temperature sensor electrical circuit poor connection
Also, check out this video about engine overheating.

Now this is something I had never imagined a car would "alert" on. I thought they were just intent on "too hot" more than "too cool."
But, yeah, "too cool" is also bad, especially for fuel mileage.
