Every June Mopar enthusiasts gather in the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area to enjoy each other's company, tell stories, perhaps share a little 'shine, and stare at Mopars of all shapes and sizes.

This year's event kicked off at The Ramsey Hotel in Pigeon Forge with a Meet & Greet on Thursday, June 9th.

My highlight of the M&G was getting to spend a few minutes talking to Norm, Jr. ... as in Mr. Norm's son. He brought his Challenger 1320 to the event and, of course, it has received the full GSS treatment. He was incredibly generous with his time as he took time from cleaning the windshield to talk. He obviously loves Mopars as much as his Dad did.

On Friday, June 10th there was an organized Cruise from Pigeon Forge through Gatlinburg. Thanks to great work and cooperation of the local police department, over 200 Mopars made it through town two-by-two. With the rest of the day "free" many of us headed to The Tail of The Dragon.

On Saturday, June 11th we all headed a couple of hours North to Bristol Speedway for a Car Show and Autocross. Way too many Mopars to photograph all of them. Here's a small sample

The wrap on this Challenger was absolutely stunning in person. Mostly it looked rich, olive green ... with gold undertones. Very classy. Very well done.

This 2020 Scat Pack is not only beautiful to the eye ... it has a drag suspension and a nifty 150 shot of NOS.

I always thought this generation of Chargers were under appreciated. I was glad the owner brought his 4-Speed Charger to the show.

Yes ... It has a HEMI!

My car is certainly not a "Show" car ... but it's MY car!

There was no way I was going to make the trip all the way to Bristol and not get a picture with the "It's Bristol, Baby" sign

Of course ... we did more than just enjoy the Mopars. On the way back to our hotel we took a "detour" to the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail in Gatlinburg and were treated to watching a Mama Bear with two cubs (that mostly stayed in hiding) walking through the woods.

    I miss my '67 Charger :(
(like the '66 shown, but had turn indicators on the fender trim)

Curious what the 1320 is all about, and what the GSS treatment is. I am guessing Grand Spaulding is the first part. Being Norm Jr. would be a great write-off opportunity to put together an extremely well-put-together car.

I'm pretty sure it's mostly an Appearance Package.

[IMG] I like how he pioneered the 440 Darts.
Imagine if dealers actually had the guts that Mr. Norm did!
I quote: "With this focus on performance and ingenuity, Mr. Norms was able to make Grand Spaulding Dodge the largest Dodge dealership by 1972."

Imagine being a dealer and making it available that you can buy a crate-motored 426 big block Hemi with injectors or something similar to replace the SRT or Hellcat engine!

Dodge wouldn't carry the warranty, but YOU could! The world would be beating a path to your door!

A new revolution of men being men again is on its way back to the West, starting with America, most likely.

Got EPA problems? Then sell the car then the engine can be put in after! Some states hate everything masculine and fun? Then I guess they can do without it!

Meanwhile, in the states where being a man is still legal, they will do an absolutely THRIVING business!

Mr Norm at Grand Spaulding for Dodge, Royal for Buick, Baldwin Motion and Yenko for Chevrolet made it possible for a average (or slightly above average) guy to go to their local dealership and drive away with, for its time, serious horsepower.

Well, then, I believe now is a great time for it to happen again. The people want HORSEPOWER!
The world needs more men like this

PS when magnesium is heat-treated, it often leaves a kind of brownish finish on the metal. Some of the classic cars back had just that type of finish on their mags.

I can see an appetite that has just been whetted (not wetted) for more POWER!

The 1970's can occur once MORE!

Gorgeous Cragar Super Trick wheels. Light, pretty, and dragstrip-only. The chrome-dipped super-shiny but nowhere near as cool or light Street Super Tricks were pawned off on the public, unlike Centerlines, where every wheel sold was a race wheel that was also street-legal.

That was sad, to me, because Super Tricks had THE best shape of the solid wheels.

People left their wheels matt finished to avoid errant tripping of timing lights, BTW
