I guess it really is true that time flies when you're having fun! Because six months went by in the blink of an eye and it's already time to change the oil in my '15 Challenger SRT 392. This is technically the last time that I "have" to follow the six months part of the change interval since my CPO Extended Warranty will be up in November. So ... here's the photographic proof of the oil change taking place right on schedule. Seven quarts of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40 (6 for $51 from Amazon + 1 for $12 from NAPA = $63) and a Mopar/SRT #041 Oil filter ($14 from Amazon) for a DIY cost of $77.
Why not use Amsoil? Actually, that's rhetorical. Any answer ends up as some variation of, "I'm too lazy to do research, too cheap to buy it, don't care, etc." Any oil that does not say "100 percent synthetic" is whatever proportion of synthetic to crap oil they want. That includes "full synthetic," "synthetic blend," or whatever they use to seduce massive profits from the unsuspecting. If oil was water, then "full fresh water" could be sewage, legally. Now, if you plan on dumping this car on some sucker in a few years, yeah, sure, put bunker fuel in the crankcase if you want. Asphalt, too, may work if you live in a real hot area.
