The old classics were already lining the streets for the big Spring show in Pigeon Forge later this week. We were there simply for a fun day and shopping at the outlet mall. We went through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to get there from our home in western NC. A delightful trip in 'Sport' Mode through all the 'twisties' both uphill and downhill. We didn't see any male elk this time but did see this female along the road. Here are a few photos of our views, and of course the end of the day trip is culminated with a dozen of original Krispy Kremes. The red light was ON.
Ahhh .... three of my favorite things: GoMango Challengers, The Great Smoky Mountains, and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. And spotting any Elk is always a great add-on to the trip. We spotted this one just outside of Maggie Valley last summer.
Cool! I know the elk are tracked but those collars kind of suck. Maybe they are like 'bling' for the male elk.
