Check out this twin-turbocharged, 1,132 hp. Demon. Twin-Turbocharged Dodge Demon Proves The 2018 Mopar Muscle Car Is Still King (hotcars.com)
Opinion: With turbos, these cars should be EASILY producing North of 1500hp, and more approaching 2000hp. No one is dropping the compression ratio enough to do it, though, evidently. Aircraft run at 6:1 compression and they have 100-plus-octane airplane gas to work with. Could it be they know more than the Youtube Jake And Aaron Paul Tuner clique? Also, they put too-small turbos on them. They need big wheels and a high A/R ratio on the exhaust turbine to get out of the way down low and allow efficient, low-backpressure boost at higher RPM to carry that torque curve smoothly onward from around 2500RPM to 7000 and higher. I honestly marvel (correction: I am flat-out disgusted) at the low level of engineering on these "tuner" cars, and the extreme puniness of their turbochargers that are choking the engines to death, not to even mention the low A/R on the Turbine sections, so the car whizzes up to max turbo RPM at around 3000 RPM then chokes to death at 6500. It's hard to use 27PSI of boost when you have to have 39PSI of backpressure to generate it. I don't doubt he can get 1132hp using ONLY turbos, but why on Earth would one want to even do this? Answer: Engineering LAZINESS. Use the blower at lower RPM to provide the exhaust energy to get the turbos spinning, then have the (much larger) turbos kick in to carry it way over the top at 7-10,000RPM. They could be getting 1700hp with only 1300 ft-lbs of torque. at 10 grand, they could be turning 2000hp with 1070 ft-lbs. But, everyone's too lazy to do research and have a car that is truly well-engineered. Lazy "tuners" will NEVER go to 9000 RPM on a car. It actually takes more than gluing parts onto a car and turning a quick profit. Most "tuners" can't even NAME the maker of the best rocker arms in the business, let alone who supplies the 10,000 RPM-capable internals of the Drag Pack. Yes, the Drag Pak can do 10,000 RPM. Source: https://www.nhra.com/news/2020/tech-specs-inside-supercharged-dodge-challenger-drag-pak Screenshot: I have very little, no, MINUS respect for the whole "Youtube tuner culture." They are the Fart Can ricers who got older and got some money. They can combine all their collective engineering expertise into one place, put it inside a hypodermic needle's needle, and rattle it like a grain of sand bouncing around inside the Alaska Pipeline. Also, whoever or whatever their god is forbid they ever increase the rear inner fender wells to handle true supercar-size rear tires. I know pimping out your overhyped shit is what makes the whole jerky circle of the Like OMG Bro Way Rad Performance Tunerzzz of Awezomeness Totally Work, BROOOOOO! Bro, you know what I'm saying, Bro? Bro, seriously, like BRO! We are tha SHIIIIIIIIETTTT! But, they have neither the intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, nor experience to turn out a truly world-class supercar. American tuners LOOK LIKE the silicone tits of the performance world, but they are just festering hemorrhoids with lots of makeup and Hollywood Hype. In FACT, I think it may be time to begin compiling the pieces to do a 2000hp Hellcat, I am so tired of the incessant self-fellating braying of the Tuner Culture Morons. The latest Drag Pak puts out 1500hp on just a supercharger. Can you imagine the combustion pressure in those cylinders when they are burning about 200hp just to turn the supercharger? If someone thinks that turbos can't put out 2000 hp with a similar amount/very little more piston stress, they are particularly violently mentally retarded. PS with That supercharger, and turning 10,000 RPM, I find the "1500hp" to be typical Dodge litotes.
