An owner of a 2023 Hellcat Jailbreak, with only 1,000 miles, had a warranty claim denied for a blown engine (zero compression in cylinder no. 7) because of "tampering." Specifically, a Stellantis Calibration Engineer ran Powertrain Control Module (PCM) diagnostics and confirmed that the vehicle’s PCM was tampered with and contained "non-factory software." The owner denied this allegation and stated that the only mod was a mid-muffler delete. Discussions are ongoing. At stake is the $36,000 cost of a new engine. Caught! No way around it. Dodge confirms that a PCM reflash will leave a permanent mark, even if you reverse the tuning mods. Specifically, it will leave a P1400 code that shows on a scan report signifying an altered PCM. The entire alarm reads, "P1400-AFTERMARKET CALIBRATION DETECTED/WARRANTY COVERAGE CONFIRMATION REQUIRED." Once it shows, it cannot be erased. The code gets stored in the car's Body Control Module. Dodge updated its software in 2018 for the code to be written to the BCM. https://www.carscoops.com/2023/05/a...-permanent-mark-even-if-you-reverse-the-mods/
