I own a 2012 6.4L SRT-8 Challenger and I added a aftermarket cold air intake, headers, high flow catalytic converter and a Magna flow exhaust. (engine light turns on with this step up, since a tuner is NOT available) but I must say its a beefy sound. When the vehicle is cold, the exhaust is LOUD especially at the start up, but once the engine warms up, the volume does lower to a nice hum until you hit the pedal.

Cabin sound is also a little on the high side, but it is a muscle car after all, this is all compaired to the stock exhaust sound which to me was pretty quiet. I just took my car in to the dealer for its first oil change and everyone in the maintence and sales dept. came out to see my car, the engine sound inside a drive thru garage type area is loud. I could hear them reving the engine in the shop while I was inside waiting the building for them to finish.

I hope this helps, you can find alot of helpful videos on Youtube which people post. I am out of state side now, but once I get home I will record my car and post it since I also recorded my car while stock, so i will post my video with both stock and my upgrades on the same video to help others get an idea of the difference in sound level and sound.

Good luck brother.. alot of choices out there, bottom line... they all sound good it just a matter of the amount of noise you want to make on the road and cruising down your street. Along with what state or county you are in allows you to make. :)

I have heard three after market exhausts on SRT's.

    In my humble opinion
Corsa - sounded okay, but only a slightly bigger sound. Not that much different than stock
Pypes - Sounded really good but I hate the two round tips
    and
    Zoomers - Sounded absolutely amazing

and Hemi671, I believe you are getting the CEL because you did headers and high-flow cats. A simple cat-back exhaust should not throw a code

@ jonmandude.. I did hear zoomers and was thinking about getting that one instead of magna flow, but I purchased all my stuff (exhaust, high flow and headers) at one shop which they gave me a huge discount on it since I was getting the whole set up. But YES the reason my CEL is on as I DID mention that in my comment above because of the set up (headers & high flow catalytic) I am running. Hopefully Dodge will release the encryption codes soon to an aftermarket tuner maker or put out something to tune the car as stated on all these articles I have read on other postings, so I can get have the CEL shut off permanently.

But I do love the sound of the exhaust Im running and it does give you the option of using the stock exhaust tips or use what comes with the exhaust which is a dual chrome tip exhaust, which is what I ended up going with.

I do agree that just changing out the exhaust without adding headers and high flow catalytic should not throw a CEL, I was also told due to the sensors the headers and High Flow Catalytic affects the O2 sensors. So until that tuner comes out.... CEL will remain on.

I hope that the encryption gets solved for you as well, sir.

For a quickie today i went for flow master 40 series and removed the resonators. Nice throaty sound. Also extended the stock tips out about an inch. Looks hot. Sounds great.

New owner of a '13 R/T... i'm debating between full exhaust, or just muffler. will i have to concern myself with a tuner, if i just go rear mufflers?

You don't need a tuner to do an exhaust. With your R/T still being under warranty, I would recommend just mufflers and resonator deletes. The only warranty you void is the muffler warranty.

Go full exhaust too. If you don't, trust me, you will keep saying, I should have done the whole system.
