Looking to add the Nitto NT555 G2 tires in 255/45R20 size for all four wheels.

I have a 2010 RT Track Pack with the 20" OEM Envy wheels which are 20x8 size.

My RT also has the Mopar Stage 1 lowering springs.

Anyone have a report to confirm the 255/45 size will fit with minimal or no rubbing?

I currently have 245/45 Nitto Motivo tires all around, they are about 6 years old and in need of replacement. Wanting a dedicated summer tire with a little more width for appearance & increased profile for our terrible Michigan roads.

Thanks in advance for any help!

For a 255/45-20 tire to wear and perform properly, you will need a 8.5 inch wheel (see center image and web site link, below).

By the way, you would hardly notice the difference between a 245/45-20 and a 255/45-20 tire. It is only 10mm or .39 inches wider.

If you want wider tires, you will have to buy wider wheels with the correct wheel offset.

I have 275/40-20 tires on my 2009 SRT with 9-inch wheels. (note- These are the widest tires that you can fit on 9-inchers).

Go to Nitto tire website and it'll show what wheel width are approved.

If you're trying a wider tire and not sure go for one of the fronts first, so you can see if the knuckle rubs on the tire.
There is not much space anyway from knuckle to tire. A lot of tire shops have people who (stooges) don't know.

I have Nitto 555 G2 245s in the front and Nitto NT555 R2 285s in the rear. But have seen youtube videos where 305s in the rear fit under the body with no mods. That's my next tire upgrade. (2016 Scat Pack with Shaker)

Tom, I think you have the same wheels as I do, the Alcoa Forged aluminum ones, standard on the SRTs. How wide are they? I’ve tried to look it up online, and tried measuring it, but tough to do from the outside, and I can’t find a definite answer. Are they 8 1/2? 9? Thx.

BTW, I’m still running the stock setup, 255/45 20 rears and 245/45 20 fronts.

The Alcoa forged aluminum wheels are 9 inches wide. The maximum width tire that you can fit on them is a 275/40-20. That is what I have on my 2009 SRT.

    Update:

The Nitto NT555 G2 tires in size 255/45-20 fits both front and rear with no clearance issues on my 20x8 Envy wheels.

Total price of tires & installation was $960 from Discount Tire.
