In a Stellantis cost-cutting move, many dealerships may start using factory-backed bproauto parts. These parts are Chinese made. A quick comparison of a bproauto oil filter to an SRT filter reveals its smaller size. Can this actually be as good? According to Stellantis, however, MOPAR parts are not going away. Here is its statement: "While MOPAR remains the global original-equipment parts and authentic accessories brand for Stellantis, bproauto fills a vital niche by catering to a wide range of vehicles – new, used, owned, rented, or shared." Years ago they sold a cheap brand, maybe Value Line? When I was ordering pads for my Jeep, the dealer was telling me about it.
I figure your time is worth something, and at the rates charged by most auto shops - $100 - $200 per hour (more if you have a Jag ) if you’re doing your own work and saving that money, spend a little extra and get quality parts. I learned long ago that using crappy parts, and then having to do the job OVER, just ain’t worth it. And… while you have it apart, address any other items that look marginal. Tow trucks are expensive, too.
True I always buy OE, or good quality aftermarket. Mainly Wagner severe duty brakes for my trucks, they out stop, and outlast the OE ones.
