CarEdge cited a Nissan dealer that routinely tacks on these outlandish charges to its new cars. Look at what it added to the selling price:

    • 2% Sales Commission (dealer ownership always pays this to its salesmen)
    • Holdback
    • Floor Plan Assistance
    • Ad Assistance

I have a Dodge dealer right at the top of my street, but I will never go back there. The coupon I got in the mail from them was for an oil change, so I booked an appointment. But the service advisor came to me with a 2 page print out of various problems / concerns that needed to be
" Dealt with immediately, or void my warranty" he said. I declined and went to a smaller shop that I trust, and found there was nothing wrong with my 2017 Challenger. No wonder Dealers get a bad rap and are called Stealerships !

Service Advisors have numbers on them.. it's thier job to produce money not help the consumer out. It sucks that they are waiting for there next victim.

I have never made out on any warranty, car or otherwise. I basically think they are not worth it. i know some have, but its like gambling against one of the LVegas casino's. Some individuals may win some, but they house always wins.

I normally do not purchase warranties. however, the one time that I did, it was well worth it.

As soon as my 1992 Buick LeSabre was out of its new car warranty, it needed repairs/replacement of the anti-lock brakes, alternator, starter, crank sensor, etc.
