The McLaren Formula 1 Team worked with eBay to modify a 1973 34 'Cuda to honor the team’s success this season, particularly in the United States, where it picked up a win in Miami earlier this year. The customized car is currently at Circuit of the Americas, awaiting its final fan-chosen modifications ahead of the U.S. Grand Prix.

Its list of upgrades includes a QA1 coil-over conversion suspension system, Wilwood Dynalite brake system with forged calipers, Doug’s headers/Pypes exhaust, 15-inch American Racing Torque Thrust D wheels and Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires. The exterior is painted papaya orange.

Love the vinyl / partial vinyl roofs on most applications (had them on a Charger and a Duster). Were they an option on the E bodies?

Yes, they were an option on the E-bodies. Sometimes, they were part of a package. For example, backlight louvers came with a vinyl roof.

I didn't like the vinyl roof, so I ordered backlight louvers through parts and installed them, myself, on my 1971 'Cuda (see below).

It looked great in the silver paint before the transformation. It looks like they may have replaced the torsion bar suspension with coil overs. I see the inner fender shock mounts have been strengthened so support that modification. I'm not a fan of vinyl roofs. I've seen too much rust under those things. Plus, I like the cleaner look.

Edit: I took another look, the plate I was looking at appears to be some kind of heater hose support

Tom, you told me awhile back that you and your brother owned the Cuda? So why did you guys sell the car then? I think some of us can tell similar stories and show pictures of their old rides or some of us can still show our Cudas, and Mopar's that we presently own. and most of us can show pics of our old high school girl friends and our x wife's? It is OK to talk once in a while about both, I was under the impression that this forum was for modern Challenger's, which that's why I am on here. The past was sometimes OK, but it might be time to get in to the now. And again, a lot of people really do not care about older cars? if you want a Mopar website that is just for old Mopar's I will gladly give you addresses. I think we all know your love for your past (4) eyed Cuda. I hope you can win the lottery and buy it back. It's OK to dream that's one thing this current administration has not taken away from as of yet.

I was the sole owner of my 1971 'Cuda 340. My brother owned a 1968 383 Charger.

I sold my car for family reasons. We needed a big practical car with air conditioning, 4-doors and a large trunk to accomodate our new baby's needs.

This website is, primarily, for new Challengers, but we also have a forum for First Generation Challengers. That is where I posted this information. I think that this website has great information for all MOPAR car owners.
