    Good morning/afternoon all!

My son moved to San Jose area with his 14 RT. This car came to us back in 2016 with a salvage title. We did not know that the rebuilder did not replace the passenger side curtain airbag. In CA they require out of state cars attempting to register but with rebuilt titles to undergo an inspection by the state police. They found this. He has the airbag but cannot find anyone to touch it. I am in Arkansas and as a last resort will fly out and install the airbag. is there anyone in the area willing to tackle this task? I am going to assume the rebuilder put a dummy resister in the connector because their are no SRS codes in the vehicle and the Airbag module does communicate on the network, no u codes. BTW kid is not a kid any more (27) just not exactly mechanically minded like the old man. An alternative would be if you know of a body shop that you could refer us to. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, you probably do not want to hear this but you would probably would be money ahead to have a dealer look into that. Good luck.

The dealer will not touch it unless they provide the part which is beyond reasonable. Larger body shops are the same way. According to Mitchell it flags for 2.0 hours which is quite generous. I would rather find a mom & pop shop or have a knowledgeable member of the forum do it if possible. On the outside of those options, I will fly out there and do it for him. If no one steps up to fill the gap, no harm done.

Once this is done, it allegedly has to go to a dealer to confirm the integrity of the system before the state police will allow it to be registered. When he called to get estimates or schedule an appointment from the local dealers, they could not even comprehend what he was asking them to do nor tell him if they could even do it. Baffling.....

I might have him call Faigrounds...
