Whoever thinks we are interested in some small sissy inline six probably is married to a tranny, like Macron, the French PM, and sevveral members of Congress and, then there is Big Mike.

There is no replacement for sheer displacement, OR number of cylinders, low-RPM torque, and engine configuration.

A Eurosnot-appealling inline six is not a Hemi and never will be, even if it is 800 cubic inches.

The Eurosnots trying to force us to like something other than the greatest hot rod engine of all history is like them trying to argue that if we aren't planning on having kids, then it makes perfect sense to marry a transvestite instead of a real woman.

I think it is funny how they are so completely oblivious to how completely out of wack their sense of much of anything is.

Even a V6 is sexier than an inline six. An inline FOUR is sexier, somhow, as proven by the Krauts with their F1 motor courtesy of BMW.

An inline six is like a faithful mule, an efficient slave, a high-quality apppliance, or other things that in no way are attractive or at any risk of engendering any emotional feelings.

Other than their national leaders' attraction to trannys, have the Eurosnots every experienced an emotion?
Now, Nadler's husband notwithstanding, Brigitte Macron had to drop the charges against whomever called its gender into question and refused to do a simple DNA test.

But, whether that is true or not, Egad, the Eursnots are just SO far out of touch with North American values. What is their next goal? a 25,000 RPM Cox .049cubic inch model airplane engine with five turbos on it?

Racer X discusses the Hurricane Scat Pack/Six-Pack Charger. This 550 hp. twin-turbo version is good for 12.2 sec. for the 1/4 mile, 3.9 sec. for 0-60 mph. and 177 mph. top speed. (The R/T has 425 hp.). It could be much faster, but this all-wheel drive car weighs in at a hefty 4,816 lbs. Compare that to a modern Camaro that weighs only 3,700 lbs. (Note- If the Charger weighed only 3,600 lbs., it could reach around 10.9 sec. in the 1/4 mile).

As far as pricing, the R/T starts at $50K and the Scat Pack at $55K.

Yes, it is quite competent, not to mention portly.

It fails to make an emotional connection with me and millions of others, many of whom are planning to buy another car in the coming months, cars that would have been Mopars, if they had Hemis.

But, much as the Euros may spill their PG Tips or cappuccinos or Estrogen Water or whatever they drink in their monocle-dropping amazement at Americans failing to see the halo-like wonders of an inline six of 1.25 liters or whatever it is, we ain't THEM, and we are not interested. Now, a V12, THAT would be more interesting, and it would only increase the cost of the engine by about 50 percent, as adding six more pistons, 24 more valves, and a different crank and block would put it miles, not kilometers, ahead oft he other makes on Earth. But, alas, it would still not be a Hemi.

    Out.
    of.
    Touch.

The OHV V8 has a HISTORY in America. It doesn't need quad turbos, nitrous, Viagra and a young fluffer to make it put out. For some reason, we of the American persuasion look askance at inline sixes. I don't know why, but I have NEVER viewed an inline six with anything resembling interest or desire. It reminds me of the other brands of wrenchess saying "We are just a good as Snap-On and we are made in the same factory." Whatever you say, but you are not Snap-Ons. It reminds me of the song lyric about trannys, "Powder and paint to make us what we ain't" and the movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

    SOMETHING
about V8's is just viscerally masculine and satisfying. Look at the Scandia V8 truck engine with a whopping 770hp, trouncing all North American highway trucks.

    The Mercedes/AMG supercharged V8. "I coulda had a V8" old V8 juice commercial saying.

No one has ever won a street racing comparison bench session with "It's an LS." However, for decades, saying "It's a Hemi" has often been the last word in discussions on who has the better engine.

Dodge needs to get its bib on, pull up to the table, and feast on the recognizable corvid. Eating crow is far less a problem than violently rejecting your core, loyal, fans and buyers.

The attitude, "But, you should not like that engine. WE have not put in the effort to make it more efficient in order to force you to not like it, and yet, here you are, preferring it." it reminds me of a jealous dog who can't figure out why its master is so enamored of that woman INSTEAD OF ME, YOUR FAITHFUL HOUND.

Except it is more like someone taking away a beloved family dog and replacing him with a face-sucking alien paerasite/ovipositor.

Lord Flatulo is in attendance, I hear. I am sure he knows Biggus Dickus and Incontinentia.

Blat exhaust notes do not interest heterosexual males, which, evidntly are illegal in Euroland.
Know of any Ferraris with inline six engines? There have been plenty with V8's and V12''s, and even V6's.

The BMW M1 FAILED because it was intelligent, competent, fairly fast, etc, and had an INLINE SIX. It was in supercar territory, and would have made a world-beating supercar, IF BMW had added six more cylinders and made it a V12.

Mein Gott, Hans, vas ist mit der Furzmotor?

However, i know it was created to get BMW some hope of racing in Group 5 and winning against the Porsche Juggernaut, but it was an opportunity to bring a unquely German ubercar do the market, and the Bavarians just quit on it when Group 5 fizzled.

While I'm here, I will reiterate, the Viper needs a Twin Hurricane DOHC V12 of double the displacement of the Hurricane V6, and low revs and centrifugal supercharging.

A uniquely American supercar with hypercar power levels (10000 plus hp) but with instant-on boost, not wheezy, sissy little turbos. You know, the Americcan way of doing things.Supercharging and cubic inches.

Don't try to be an imitation/follower of Corvette, which is an imitation/followr of Ferrari. A Xeroxed copy of another Xerox copy of a Bateman is nowhere near as valuable as an original Warhol, even if Bateman's skill as a painter vastly exceeds Warhols's.

Come on, Dodge, 445 series rear tires, a wing, front- mid-engine layout and a transaxle. Damn the EPA torpedoes and full speed ahead.

Forget about making it puny and small like a Miata on steroids. Barge in the front door like a steroid-bloated linebacker who is 300 plus pounds and can do the 40 in the four second range. Sometimes, it is not about ultimate performance as much as it is by presence. I can say this as a long-time (drug-free) bodybuilder. Last street fight I got into was when I was 12. I have been in a gym since I was 13. I figured a few hundred pounds of prevention is worth all the cure in the world.

Make a car with PRESENCE, Dodge. Make your own category, as Bugatti did with the heavy, ugly, but high-top-speed-if-you-don't-care-about-stability-and retract the wing 1500hp W engine supercar. There was no lineup of 250mph supercars with which to contend. They created that market segment with a car that a hopped-up Camaro can beat around a racetrack, but nobody is paying a million bucks for Camaros.
