"Snake Oil" Devices

    Over the years, there have been many "snake oil" devices that make outrageous claims.

    Here are a few:

    Nano Ground Dragon (nano cable grounding system). Clauims allows electrical current to pass through the wiring harness more efficiently. This improves acceleration, makes easier gear changes and reduces engine vibrations.

    Cigarette Lighter Plug-In ECU Booster. By plugging this “PowerBar” into the cigarette lighter socket, it will utilize “Quantum Physical Technology to increase engine power and enhance fuel economy.

    This one has to be the worst! What scam artist dreamed up this? It claims 15-30% fuel savings. "German Technology" Fuel-Saving Quantum Energy Card with 20000+cc Negative Ions.

    The vortex Tornado. It's supposed to improve your gas mileage and performance by installing it in your air intake.

    Fuel line magnet. It clamps around the fuel line and aligns the gas particles so they burn better. The result is better mpg.

    Nitrogen for tire inflation. Did you know that the air we breathe contains 78% nitrogen?

    I continue to be amazed by the propensity humans have to believe bullshit. It was there in ancient times, like when they believed they needed to sacrifice a child so the gods would make it rain. We haven’t progressed a whole lot since then. For instance, there are still some people who believe the earth is flat! :facepalm:

    The unicurve valve actually worked. i think they got bought out and shut up.

    I think it may have been WC Fields that is known for there is a sucker born every minute..

    But I am not sure as those sayings are well before my time .

    Google search says PT Barnum. There are some good quotes from each of these guys, though:
    WC - "I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted".
    PT - "No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else".

    Here is another product- Tribo TEX oil additive. It, supposedly, contains ceramic and nano-particles that will increase your performance and gas mileage.
