I have heard many times that the PCM in our cars holds back power, for engine longevity, until it is fully capable. This supposedly occurs after 2,500 miles for the R/T and at phased intervals of 1,000 miles (at various speeds), 3,750 miles, and 7,500 miles for the SRT. My seat-of-the-pants meter tells me that this is real with increased power and exhaust sound from my stock (except for MOPAR CAI) 6.1. Has anyone actually verified this at the track or on a dyno?
