I purchased a new, leftover 2012 SRT8 six speed on March 5, 2013:snoopfacepalm:. So far, I have returned it to the dealer five times because it will occasionally display "key fob not detected" and will not start, unless I get out of the car (which sets off the alarm) and wait a minute. The key fobs were reprogrammed three times, then the receiver was replaced, and finally both keys. That was day before yesterday. The very next day, the exact same failure occurred. Has anyone else had this problem, or have any suggestions? Thanks!

So it was the last one on the lot? Is that what you mean by "leftover"? :)

So you have replaced everything from the key fob to the receiver and its still having issues? Did the older receiver short out? If you replaced everything, not sure whats causing the issue.

That sounds more like the computer not recognizing the key & fob.

    Key fob update

It has not had another failure to start, so I am being optimistic that that was an aberration and it is fixed. It was a leftover 2012 (new) purchased in 2013 (nice price reduction, by the way), and was the last 2012 SRT8 on the lot; they did have several 2013 SRT8's.

So what was the last thing you had them do? Whatever it was, it sounds like it was fixed.

    Key fob update

They replaced both keys last; they had already replaced the receiver.

So before the key changes, it still didn't work? Now after the key changes, no issues?

    key fob

One failure to start the next day after the keys were replaced, a week has gone by since then and no more failures.

You thing it was the keys the whole time or the combination of changes?
