Did your new challenger have that new car smell ?

    When I purchased new cars in the past & my wifes new 2014 forester they all had that "new car smell" My 2013 challenger had a "kind of new car smell" I think it is the "nappa leather trimmed seats but she said she doesn't like the smell of the interior & she doesn't think it has the new car smell. mine is a 2013 R/T plus & I admit, it doesn't smell like the new cars I have had. I saw on the 200 tips & tricks post in the forum here that some 2013 challengers had the weatherstrip rubber contaminated and there is a service bulletin I found that says the rubber on some 2013 & I think 12s can be replaced. Did any of your challengers have that "new car smell" we all know or do the challenger interiors with the big rubberized dash have something to do with that. on the recall list it is the 8th one down that says 2013

    hmm that's interesting wonder if it is the nappa leather. i didnt buy a brand new challenger but i'd be curious what others have to say.

    The new car smell of my Challenger was primarily from the leather seats. After four years, it still smells great.

    I think the smell is the leather also. Mine is almost a year old and I still smell it.

    A little off topic, but has anyone noticed how all Volvos smell the same and the new car smell lasts forever?

    Mine doesn't have the "leather" smell I thought it would have then again, there ARE different kinds of leather. I was thinking something like a leather jacket or saddle but there is also the dashboard that is not leather but rubberized something. It doesn't bother me at all in fact I like the way it smells inside, the wife is the one who doesn't so I said " drive your Subaru forester " LOl she just gave me "the look" other than that she loves the Challenger.
