I want to add a cold air intake for my 2013 R/T with 5.7. I have a K&N in my truck and it is great. I haven't had to clean & reoil since I put it in in 2006. the re oiling is a slow process to make sure you don't "over oil" it and that is the only downside of a K7N. I like the new MOPAR cold air intake with the MOPAR logo on it but I think it does not use oil. How well do the MOPAR cold air intakes work & how often do they need to be cleaned ?

Most CAI are for better air and show. I have a friend that drag races his 2010 Chally and he gets better passes with the stock air cleaner. They make so many CAI and they all do the same thing. Try Big Bully, Mopar, K&N, or make your own seems to work also.

Thanks storm rider. my K& N works great on my 03 GMC 4 X 4 and not knowing WHO makes the Mopar filter is hard to compare the two.

The most popular intake on several of the other challenger forums is the legmaker fender pull. It has been tested in many different scenarios and came out on top of the others. The only other one that hasent been tested much but keeps getting good reviews for lower track times is the cervini's "ram air" intake.

Before I picked up my car that was one of the things I added. Glad I did, just cleaned the filter today so simple and no oil on it..

How well does it filter compared to a K&N ? the K&N is a good filter but the oiling after cleaning gets tedious trying not to over oil it by mistake.

The MOPAR CAI is made by AEM. It is a dry filter (no oil).

Thanks Tom, oiling the K&N is time consuming just waiting for it to dry so you can re oil it. I like the look of the Mopar CAI How often do you clean yours ?

    Sorry just saw this reply.

Just google legmaker. He is a forum vendor/supporter on many other sites and has a wide variety of intakes for each model. Many of the fastest Challengers are using his systems.
