Replacing the 24 spark plugs is our Hemi engines can be very expensive, if done at the dealer.

However, if you have the right tools, you can do the job in about 90 minutes and save a bundle.

    Here is what you need:

1/4 inch drive- ratchet, 3 inch extension, 10 mm socket
3/8 drive- ratchet, 5/8 spark plug socket with built in universal joint, 3 inch extension, 5 inch extension
    spark plug gap tool/gauge
    anti-seize compound
    dielectric (non-conductive) grease
    10 mm combination wrench

Note 1- The most difficult part of the job is removing the driver's side coil at the front of the engine because of the closeness of the air box. This is where the 10mm combo wrench comes in. Just take your time and don't drop anything into the engine bay or it will be'lost" in the belly pan.

Note 2- The plugs in the SRTs are platinum and do not have to be changed until 100,000 miles.

I change mine every 10-15,000, mostly adjusting heat ranges to control detonation. I ordered a nice set of purpose sockets and extensions made by KD tools (Amazon $43 bucks) that makes the job easier. The sockets firmly hold the plugs (magnetic) and prevent dropping, regapping, etc.

Not absolute necessity, but I'm a tool whore ;)
