Switch Back to 0-40W Synthetic Oil

    A friend of mine who has a 2012 SRT received this notice from Dodge:

    "The manufacturer recommends the use of a full synthetic SAE 0w-40 engine oil or equivalent...the user guide and tip card for your vehicle VIN xxxxxxxxxxxxx incorrectly stated the use of SAE 5w-40 engine oil instead of the correct oil which is SAE 0w-40 full synthetic engine oil."

    Apparently, they are going back to the old Mobil 1 days.

    Seems everything is going to synthetics. And the price of an oil change is going thru the roof.

    Costs me $52.XX to change the oil in my Avenger. Mobil 1 and K & N oil filter.

    That may be true for Srt8 6-speeds but the new 2013 Srt8 with Mds still require 5w20
