Watch this video. Start at the 36-minute mark. If you thought the Fratzonic sound sounded bad and super fake, you were not wrong! Also, note that the You Tuber got 50% off on this Scat Pack! It sat on the lot for 410 days. I don't like the Charger Scat Pack EV and wouldn't buy one for even 50% off MSRP. But why does Cleetus say that it is slow? It does 0-60 mph in 3.3 sec. and the 1/4 mile in 11.7 sec. @116 mph. This is Hellcat performance.
I’ve said it before… The “Fratzonic” noise maker is a waste of time, effort, electricity, metal, weight, etc. Totally unnecessary. For Christ sake, let an electric car sound like an electric car. Why go through all that trouble to generate something fake? Also, I think the guys in this video are way too hard on the car. I thought it did some fine donuts! And it’s a sharp looking car. The cracked roof is a little concerning.
Dodge was trying to appease HEMI owners who like a great sounding engine. Obviously, it failed. Personally, I do not object to the styling. Also, I like the modern interior. For the performance guys, the Scat Pack Six Pack is just as fast as the 6.4. It does the 1/4 in 12.3 sec. @112 mph and 0-60 mph in 4.3 sec. That being said, I will gladly keep my 2009 SRT.
The car is nice, but the battery range and Fratzonic exhaust would deter me from buying one. Though most electric auto's do make some type of noise so you're aware that they are there.
