The following are typical dyno results for stock Challengers: Stock 6.1 HEMI should be @ 360-365rwhp Stock 5.7 HEMI should be @ 325-335rwhp Stock 6.4 HEMI should be @ 405-410hp If you factor in an 18% drivetrain loss, the crank hp numbers are as follows: 6.1- 425-431 hp 5.7- 383-395 hp 6.4- 480-484 hp How close are these numbers to your actual dyno results?
A LOT factors into dyno results. Barometric pressure, temperature, sea level and even what type of dyno. I have seen many stock 5.7's run a 315-320 on the dyno. I have yet to see one run where you say. Tuned will run around 335-340. Your 6.4 is fairly close and the 6.1 is about 5-10 off...from my experience. I run a dyno at a race shop and know for a fact that checking weather parameters periodically thru-out the day is very important for accuracy. By changing the pressure in the dyno parameters I can actually make a 100hp car show 700 if I wanted to
usually right around 345-360. I have seen one pull almost 362 but that is the highest I have seen. Keep in mind, the brand of dyno does matter. We have a Mustang, which is known to usually be more low than others. A Dynojet tends to be more "friendly"
Bone stock, 340rwhp. With a CAI, resonator delete, 347rwhp. Blower at 6lbs, tune, etc 450rwhp. Pulley swap, cooler temps and more aggressive timing, 470rwhp. I figured a 12-15% drivetrain loss so 525 to 540. Its enough street tires are worthless in 1st or 2nd gear
Mine dynoed 335hp 359 torque in 102* heat, operator said on a 75* day would be 20 hp higher and with a custom tune he thought 365 was attainable. I paid $75 for three pulls with a wide band o2 sensor.
What kind of dyno? And how do they have the dyno set? There are many parameters that can be adjusted with the programming, and with those parameters you can change how accurate the results are. Was it a mobil dyno, like what is often at car shows? Those are always higher than actual.
Dynajet at Houston Performance. He is mostly a Mustang tuner . Had my C5 dynoed there in 02. 293 hp. At the time he was known for tuning factory stock class Mustangs the one's that were winning week in and week out. Steve has been at that location for close to 20 years and you don't last in that business if you flim flam customers.
Those are very strong numbers for a 5.7 Dynajets are pretty forgiving. I would guess on a Mustang Dyno, you would see lower numbers
