Does it matter if I have the snap on engine cover attached or no? I do not like the way it looks and it doesn't appear to have any functional use but I am just curious if it will hurt my vehicle by removing it?
By removing it, you will help somewhat with heat dissipation. However, unlike the 6.1, it is not pretty under the 5.7 cover. Here is a photo of the 5.7 engine without the cover and a stock 6.1 engine.
I appreciate it fellas!! Just didn't like how the cover hides the engine. I know it's only the 3.6L but I am in the middle of trying to open her up a bit.
That was the first thing I did to mine, took the engine cover off and put it in storage. The 5.7 isn't as pretty as the 6.1 but I'd still rather look at an engine than a plastic cover.
The guys at 3G have a lot of cool stuff to dress up your engine bay with and their prices are fair. Check out their section and see what the monthly special is.
