I backed my challenger into the garage and turned my tires all the way to the left. tonight I decided to check my tire wear and noticed that a part of the front suspension the part that that looks like a V with the small part of the V that comes out over the tire and has a bolt and nut sitting right over the inside tread of the front tires even after I pointed them straight. I have factory 18 inch wheels with tire size 235/55 Michelins .The clearance is only enough for me to get my index finger between the top of the tire and the bottom of that bolt and my knuckle of my finger is touching both tire and bottom of that bolt. I never noticed that before and I am now wondering what happens if you go over a speed bump or over a driveway enterance where the front tire travels upwards ? does that suspension part travel upwards when your tire does or do the rub ? I don't see any evidence of rubbing but man, the clearance is real close. I always go slow when going over anything but if you hit an unseen pot hole would the tire hit that suspension bolt ? Bert
No, it won't rub unless you bend/break something. The tolerance is tight and it looks like an issue when you first look at it. I replaced the entire front suspension in mine with an Eibach suspension and got pretty familiar with the suspension. Because of the design both the tire and the 'v' you are looking at will move horizontally together but there should not be any lateral movement.
