A theory has been proposed for the cause of the mysterious roof dents found on some Challengers. Namely, that the dents are caused by worn out sheet metal presses. If this is true, it will be interesting to see if there are more problems with recent Challengers.

Please post the year of your Challenger if you have experienced this problem and state if you have a sunroof (another possible cause).

Not mine, but a friends 2013 Blacktop had the "mystery dents". He has no sunroof.

We looked at it and it looked actually like a shipping issue, like maybe the top level of the carrier was a tad low and bounced on the cars during transportation, weakening the metal

I purchased a new 2013 Dodge Challenger Sxt Plus, bright white. At the time of the purchase, I was not aware of some dings present on the vehicle; namely 2 on the top of the right front quarter panel, 1 on the hood, and 1 on the roof. When cleaning the vehicle, I noticed the dings or when polishing.

White is a very difficult color to determine, as to dings being present. These dings were very difficult to notice, unless one looked at the proper angle. Upon noticing these dings, I was not at all pleased, rather annoyed. Some adviser's said that the vehicle could have been damaged in transit by the tie downs. I would have no idea as to how the vehicles are strapped down.

Trying to take pictures of the dings was virtually impossible. To sum this up, Chrysler did provide seamless dent repair (removal) for the affected areas. The technician arrived at my home and performed the seamless dent removal procedure in our garage. I did not watch the person, rather leaving him alone to perform his work. In less than one hour, the entire process was finished. I cannot believe that there is no indication that any dings or dents were ever present.

I'm very thankful that Chrysler covered the repairs. Actually, I advised Chrysler to submit the cost to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. I wish not to divulge the entire time frame as to how long this issue existed, but only to state that FCA did honor the warranty issue.

    * There was not a scratch, or mark of any kind on the vehicle of any kind after the technician removed the dings. To be honest, I have no idea how the dings were removed. The technician did inform me of the process but I was really skeptical of such standards. "Not any more". This was truly a highly experienced person.

P.S.- There is no sunroof on the vehicle.

Pretty cool how they can remove those types of dents with ease. Amazing what they can do!

I really could not believe what my eyes were seeing. We've performed a lot of body work in years past, but have never seen anything like this, 'amazing'. Again, I'm very thankful that FCA covered the repairs.
