So who's driving their Challenger in the winter? I will be as it's my only vehicle other than my Victory Cross Country Tour which is not good in the snow. Everybody I know asks what I'm going to do in the winter and can't believe I'm going to drive a rear drive car in the snow. I grew up driving rear drive cars in the snow and didn't own a front driver for many years. I've always relied on a good set of all season tires and for the most part I managed to get everywhere I was going without too much drama. This time I'm running Pirelli Scorpion winter tires on my 20 inch rims and I expect they will do just fine.
I don't drive my SRT in the snow, but others have told me that the Challenger handles fine in the snow with a good set of winter tires.
Snow is one thing we rarely have to worry about in Jacksonville, FL. The last time we had enough to create any traffic issues was 1989. We had freezing rain followed by about 1.5 inches of snow followed by a lot of sleet. All the bridges froze and without any winter highway equipment all we could do was just wait for it to melt. Though the DOT did finally make it to the beach to get some sand to put on the bridges. I think you'll be just fine. The Germans have been driving rear-wheel drive Mercedes, BMWs, and Audi's in the snow for years. And there's a lot of Mercedes in pre-FCA Challengers. I hear that the Continental DWS Extreme Contacts are excellent in the snow. I had a set on my '05 GTO and can vouch that were quite good in the rain. Never saw snow.
