    2012 Dodge Challenger Rallye Redline

The 2012 Dodge Challenger Rallye Redline was unveiled in late March 2012, with an efficient 305 horsepower engine, paddle-shifting transmission, performance suspension, and “red hot” styling updates. Die-cast zinc steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters are behind the thick-rimmed three-spoke Dodge steering wheel; the Dodge Challenger Rallye Redline replaces its 2.65:1 rear-axle ratio for a more responsive 3.06:1 unit, yet still reaches 27 mpg (highway).

The Challenger Redline has unique accents, inside and out; optional Radar Red leather (not pictured); andn the V6, being based on the Challenger SXT Plus. The car has hood scoops, red stripes, body-color spoiler, and new 20-inch Pitch Black wheels with a Redline Red lip and inner drum. Wider P245/45R20 Firestone Firehawk all-season performance tires increase road contact while having a lower sidewall profile for better steering and handling.

New to the Dodge Challenger Rallye are optional heated front performance seats in Radar Red leather (Dark Slate Gray leather is also available). There are four paint colors: Bright Silver Metallic, Tungsten Metallic, white, and black.

The Dodge Challenger’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine has a cold-air induction system and dual exhausts from the headers back to the exhaust tips. Torque exceeds 90% of its peak value from 1,800 to 6,400 rpm. The aluminum engine helps the 2012 Dodge Challenger Rallye Redline to attain a 52.4 / 47.6 front-to-rear weight distribution for balance and handling.

    Inside the Redline

Dodge Challenger Rallye Redline comes with the Super Sport Group (42% firmer front and 22% firmer rear shocks, 1.18-inch (30 mm) front and 0.78-inch (20 mm) rear sway bars, 25% percent quicker steering with 20% heavier on-center feel, and 20 x 8.0-inch (replacing 18 x 7.5-inch) wheels with P245/45R20 all-season performance tires.

Larger performance disc brakes are used with this muscle car — dual-piston front calipers with 13.6 x 1.26-inch (345 x 28 mm) vented rotors in front; 12.6 x 0.87-inch (320 x 22 mm) vented rotors in back. Smaller brakes are used on stock Challenger SXT — with single pistons in front and solid rotors in back.
