Did you guys ever see a 3.5 Challenger R/T? Well, this dealer is selling one on E-Bay for $21K. The ad says it is an SE, but he has R/T stripes on it. Is this a "violation" or okay? I think that the new owner will be labeled a poser.

A true Challenger owner would notice right away. The thing is that it makes the dealer look even more foolish for trying to sell someone something that it is not.

It was obviously a trade-in and the previous owner striped it. The dealer is very clear that it is a SE and does not try to pretend it is anything but.

I don't get upset when someone "up badges" but I don't see the point. Why pretend it is something it is not?

Apparently, the former owner wanted an R/T but couldn't afford one. So the next best thing is to fool people that he actually has one.

Agree with above post, dealer is calling what it is... I've never understood the whole 'up badging' thing. Day or two ago I see an 05 Mustang with the Pep Boy's stick on "S H E L B Y" lettering on the trunk. What I don't understand is anyone that knows cars well enough to know the significance of the up-badging probably also knows when they see a fake.

Each to their own I guess.
