Challenger has problems with timing chain?

    I don't think it a big concern, some failures will occur. I have an '03 5.7 Ram that I never let up on. Still running strong.

    I think that the problems are primarily with the engines with MDS.

    1988 Mustang GT 5.0 went over 150,000 miles on original timing chain and could have gone even further.

    I wouldn't put a lot of confidence in that. That's a different make car and engine.

    I would be happier to hear about a 5.7 Challenger that went over 100K without a problem with the chain.

    I know of a guy with a 2009 R/T who is on his 3rd motor. Both times the chain broke during long highway trips. Luckily, he had the lifetime warranty. Another guy had his fail at 4,700 miles.

    Well I ordered it in 1987 and have owned it ever since.
    2009 R/T on third motor. It must be his driving.:mfr_omg:

    I know a couple who drive their R/T 80 miles a day for getting to and from work. They have over 120,000 miles on their Chally and have never had a complaint.
