Hi, recently I acquired a 2010 Challenger R/T. The previous owner had taken exceptional care of the vehicle with the exception of one thing: the rear tires, rims and suspension.

What he had done is attach massive rims in the rear with performance tires. The wide rims required spacers. He had also dropped double subs and amps in the trunk with a well made but heavy plywood box.

Due to the oversized tires and weight in the rear, the tires now scrape the fenders when a large bump is hit. This is cutting up my tires and I really don't want to spend the money to resize tires and rims atm. Someone suggested air suspension so that I could adjust the hight of the vehicle at the rear. Any other ideas? Any suggestions?

What size are those wheels and tires? How thick are the spacers?
I'm running 20 X 10's on the rear right now with them not sticking out like that.

For something is telling me that you should not have the spacers as that is what is causing the tires to stick out like that . I am running 295/35's yes it appears that the tire rubs abit on the inside when the car is jacked up by the frame and not the axle, however as the assembly gets weight on it there is a ton of room. Actually I am going to change from a 10" wide wheel to a 10.5" later to accommodate 315/35's.

Just for the heck of it take the spacers out and see what happens on the inside of the fender well.

A 275/40/20 tire will fit in the wheel well with either a 9" or 10" wheel with standard offset.

Your 10" wheel may also have an excessive amount of positive offset. I agree that you should first remove the spacers to see if that works. If it does not, your only options are new wheels or air suspension.

    See offset explanation, below.
