Mine is an '08.......I didn't buy it thinking that it would be a collectible. Besides, I drive mine like too much of an asshole to be collectible. I have big plans for it anyway.....bigger displacement and HP plans.
I'll be dead before it is collectible, so who cares? Not really. In 12 years my grandson will be 16. I wonder if I will have enough room in my yard to store it for him. Actually, all cars are collectible if you keep them up or restore them. You might see more of these cars 40 years from now as they don't disintegrate like the 70 Challengers did. Here's an odd tidbit. I haven't seen many pictures on these forums of old rusted Challengers like I did when I first joined a couple of years ago. Nor have I seen pics of wrecks. I wonder if the buying public has changed and they are more interested in THEIR car and not the aurora of the Challenger itself? I have just noticed a different attitude towards these cars over the last year. Search for carsinbarns.com and you can view tons of collectibles. Here is a shot of B5 cars from that site. And if you collect, like this guy did, all 175 got destroyed in a fire. Storage space a bit tight, hang 'em. Wish I could have one of these. Isn't it funny how the collectors just let these cars sit and rot? Oooh, is that my old 66 Charger in there? Wish I still had it. Oops. Some cars get no respect.
Those were some great pics. Shows a lot of what most collectibles are really doing. We have a guy near where I live that has 2 '64 Mustangs rotting in his front yard and a big hand painted sign that says not for sale. What a waste.
You should add 2011 Inaugural Edition and 2010 Furious Fuchsia to that list in the poll since those cars are numbered.
