Good Day all, I am new to the forum. I am having an issue with my 2009 3.5L Challenger and am looking for any help. These are the known: new starter new battery non-factory cold air intake Diablo tuned recent tune-up of coil packs and plugs recent oil change unknowns: slight lifter knock/ injector knock upon start-up (goes away when car drives a very short distance .5 miles) last time alt. was changed Symptoms: when the car becomes hot, the car will not start. It is almost like a vapor lock. I have to let the car sit for approx. 15 minutes and when it does start, she is a little sluggish until I can put some RPM's behind her. Then she is fine. This did not happen when I lived in Buffalo, but since I moved to Florida it has started doing this when the temperature gets over 80 degrees. If I hook my jump box up to it, I can usually get her start quicker, under 10 minutes. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
See if you can check the fuel pressure when it's hot. You may have a weak fuel pump. They are more likely to fail when hot.
SRT-Tom --- there are no error codes. I have scanned the vehicle as well, both by a home unit and one at a garage. No error codes. I appreciate the response. Niles --- I will attempt this.
