So here are some Real World Gas Mileage FUN Facts

While my Baby was in the Body Shop,
    I picked up a 2008 Chrysler 300 AWD 3.5
so I don't have to drive my SRT daily during the Winter.
Already put Dual Exhaust and Cold Air package
but have not paid the $149 to Diablo for a second tuner License yet.

Average on the 300 is only over 900 miles, but the exact same route I drive my SRT
It will be interesting to see if it improves on LONG trips

    Did NOT expect this :)

Interesting. Do you have a manual in your SRT? The newer 3.6 AWD with an 8-speed auto will get much better gas mileage than a 3.5 AWD with the 5-speed auto. Here are the EPA fuel ratings for the cars:

    6.1 (manual)

    14-22 mpg, 16 combined

    3.5 AWD (auto)

    17-23 mpg, 19 combined

    3.6 AWD (auto)

    18-27 mpg, 21 combined

I have the same car, 2010 SRT8. On a long trip, like here to Gainesville, I’ve gotten the computer to show 21.0 mpg! You have to be smooth about it, no quick starts and stops or heavy acceleration. (I was not driving slow. ;))

Yep, 6-speed Manual in the SRT

The "Real World Gas Mileage" test over 56k miles kind of proves I can get close to 20-MPG combined. With just a MOPAR Cold Air & Diablo CAI 91 Tune.
(and Yes, Downloading the 2nd license today for the 300)

The other thing you have against you is WEIGHT that will affect your mileage and maintenace. Wear those brakes n tires out faster and lower gas mileage. Nothing you can do about that since car is heavy in its DNA. Just don't weigh yourself down with lots of stuff in car.

Which car as a whole do you think will be more reliable and less maintenace in the long run? AWD 3.6 or 6.1 rear wheel drive?

    Maintenance or REPAIR
Cuzz I do a lot more Maintenance than some may think is necessary
Remember, the V6 has to work harder than the 6.1 to do the same work.
I suspect more REPAIR on the AWD

Yes on both maintenance and repair. Which car requires most attention?
