There also could be a skid load of repop parts on there too.. Those center caps don't look like a light argent silver.
You are 100% correct they should be light argent. the only way they would be correct if the car was a late build, and if so the trim rings would be brushed also and they are polished. in 1971 the trim rings were brushed and the center caps would be dark argent. it still is a beautiful car though, you got to love the in violet paint/plum crazy.
Favorite color (had a 70 Roadrunner the same color). Was a vinyl roof an option that model year (would look even better)?
