This subject has been covered, but I wanted to post about the solution I used to solve the hood seal that deteriorated on my Challenger. I searched online, read a bunch of ideas and selected Detroit Muscle for the parts. I’m very happy with all aspects (of course, time will tell how durable the weatherstrip is—if it too breaks down) but so far so good. The kit came with the hood to nose fascia grill seal, plastic rivets and a rivet gun. I installed it in about 20 minutes. And it was affordable ($44.69 including shipping). And it looks just like the factory piece. I’ve attached some photos of the final repair.
That is what i used on mine you may want to treat it every few months with a light spray of Meguiar's Marine Rubber and Vinyl Spray on a micro cloth or sponge and wipe it down a few times with about 10 mins between coats about 2 or 3 would be good. Also do the Cowl Seal as well and weather seals.
I, too, bought one of those a while back. Worked great. I’m kinda “frugal”. Some might say cheap. I bought the one without the rivet gun, figured pliers would work. They did, but I ruined a couple of the rivets before I got the hang of it. Good thing it came with a few extras! Maybe shoulda sprung for the rivet gun, but it came out looking good anyway.
