This is very good information. About six years ago, several of my friends and I were driving home from a weekend cruise in with our 1st gen Camaros. About 20 minutes on the interstate, going about 65 mph, one guy's rear tire had its tread separated from the tire. He immediately pulled off on the shoulder but not before the flapping tread whipped around and tore up the inner wheelhouse and the rear quarter panel. We had to beat out the rear quarter so he could drive home on the spare. His tires were about 12 years old. Needless to say after that we all replaced our tires. Mine are now approaching six years old but since I keep it in the garage they don't get beat up by UV rays or hot summer temps for long periods of time. I think I'll wait one more year to replace. They look brand new and only get about 1,000 to 2,000 miles per year but I'm not taking any chances.
i can get mine to last over 30,000 miles,. or if the ride starts to get rougher around the 5 year mark....lol
