Most of us have seen the Charlotte Rampling 'cut' scene from Vanishing Point (when she gets in the Challenger with Kowalski) but I like the take about the Chrysler Imperial as well. After seeing the movie dozens of times I appreciate the insight that the article's author alluded to. Don't bother with the comments section underneath the article unless you like to get frustrated Some folks just don't get it. The 'cut' scene link is included in the article. I enjoy this flick more each time I see it, finding things I may have missed in the past. This is what happens when you see an impressionable car move as a 17 year old. It sticks with you. https://www.hagerty.com/media/enter...8f85ebc494b29233b0956b39835480d0551f3ee37a85b
There are so many deep meanings in this movie. I just read another this morning. When Charlotte Rampling lights the joint around the 2:20 mark of the cut scene, the light flicker between her fingers represents the end when Kowaslski sees the light between the two bulldozer blades. I have no idea if that was in the director's mind or just an interesting observation.
^^^ That was really good! Not this year but perhaps next Spring we will take our R/T out west and hit some of those VP roads.
