    I hear you. When I was 17, I was also a poser.

For my first used car, I wanted a GTO. My father said that I would probably kill myself in it and bought me a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere with a 225 slant six. This wasn't the car that I wanted, so I tried to "customize" it on a limited budget.

I installed, a glass pack muffler, twin hood scoops, hood pins, racing stripes, "bucket seat" slip covers, mag-type wheel covers, racing stickers and 383 Four Barrel badges on the hood scoops. Man, I thought my car was impressive (see photo).

Well, one day, I was stopped at a traffic light and a 1969 Charger R/T (440) pulled up alongside of me. He checked out my mean machine and then listened to the exhaust. After that, he started laughing. He knew! I was then left in a cloud of tire smoke when the light turned green.

After that hard lesson, I vowed that I needed a real muscle car and started saving for my 1971 340 'Cuda.

I like the R/T and Scat Pack classic badges on my car that does everything the SRT can do.

Consider yourself lucky that you never ran up against this mean 225 slant six!

Just the racing decals would have scared you!

I am thinking my only slant 6 was in a Scamp.

I am saying that is the only Mopar I ever owned with a slant 6. Once had a Gran Fury 440 interceptor. A couple of the old style Dodge pickup trucks with V8s.
