At the present time, you cannot order a Hellcat with a manual transmission due to a supply problem. Hellcats have a pump and air-to-oil intercooler. There is a supplier issue with Tremec- not being able to get the pump or some part of that cooler system. (Note- This isn't an issue with the R/T and Scat Pack applications wsince their manuals do not have this part). Chrysler is aiming to get M6 Hellcat production going by March 2022.
A friend of mine has a T/A that’s a manual. His buddy has a Scat Pack with the same engine that isn’t. The manual T/A isn’t as fast as the automatic in the 1/4 mile my friend says. Why would that be? Aren’t most drag cars manual?
The A8 in the modern Challengers and Chargers is an incredible transmission. It can shift way, way faster than any human and it never misses a gear. Still .... I enjoy going through the gears myself.
Yes, it's true, the A8 can shift MUCH FASTER than I can with my M6 BUT If you can't loose a race because you missed a shift, you might as well drive one of THESE Just saying https://www.financialexpress.com/au...ng-acceleration-specs-price-features/2270323/
As Mark Twain said, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." Also applies to the demise of the manual transmission in Dodge Challenger Hellcats. I just left the Dodge website and tried building a 2021 Challenger Hellcat. It defaulted to building it with a manual transmission. Doesn't look like you can build a 2022 yet.
The A8 is an amazing transmission. Read this Car & Driver article. https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a23367341/automatic-transmission-best-zf-eight-speed/
