The old points distributors were not capable of keeping up with the requirements of the HP engines. On the street with just a few miles on a fresh tune, the plugs were already not at full power.

Most of the times given for the factory HP engines were from cars tuned by Al Kirshenbaum, the factory tuner. They were much better than factory offerings, unless you were very good at tuning. Some were even "breathed on" before they left the factory, and might also come with lower gearing.

I believe that the 3.6 would give most of our classics fits in 100% factory condition.

    I had a 70 440 Magnum with 850 dual feed Holly, 4:10 Dana rear in a 65 Belvedere that ran 13.2 at 106 mph--my 2021 Scat Pack seems faster.

2021 will be alot more comfortable riding with better MPG and performance near to big blocks with those outdated drum brakes.

Ya, that brute torque enhanced by rear diff gearing in our old stuff was sometimes deceiving in respect to how fast we got down the track (and too often disappointing)! Having owned quite a number of 'muscle' cars I never really experienced 'holy shit performance' until I modified my 335. Even my Challenger (dyno'd 550 crank) is no Hellcat (and beyond).
